VERIZON 3G SHUTDOWN

May 1, 2019

Dear Agralarm Customer,

In an effort to continue reliable alarm service to your poultry farm, we are notifying you that Verizon has announced the phasing out of the 3G CDMA cellular and data network. This will take place on or before December 31, 2019. Many areas are being shut down as we speak. After December 31st, any device that is not capable of using the 4G/LTE spectrum will not work! By phasing out the older networks, Verizon will be able to free up bandwidth and add capacity to the newer 4G/LTE networks. As we continue to need more speed and more data, these networks are frequently upgraded. In the future we will see 5G and even 6,7 and 8G!

All cellular carriers will be doing the phase out but not all at the same time. We are letting you know now because your network is affected this year! This applies not only to your Agralarm System but also to your personal phones, laptops and tablets if they are using the Verizon 3G Network. Other Carriers will be phasing out later (see enclosed schedule).

The good news is that we are told that the LTE Platform will still be used as the faster speeds are rolled out. Verizon does not foresee any further device changes before 2028 or later. Because this announcement directly affects your alarm system, we will need to upgrade the cellular alarm radio at your farm to LTE BEFORE December 31, 2019! The total upgrade cost is $319.00. Due to its importance, several Integrators are allowing a flock deduction at no interest for you. (check with your specific Poultry Company first).

TIME IS CRITICAL !! PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE !!! To get on the schedule, call the Agralarm Office at 443-944-8794 as soon as possible!!

Sincerely,
Stephen C. Flaherty

President
